Muriel Turner, Baroness Turner of Camden

Muriel Turner, Baroness Turner of Camden (born 18 September 1927) is a British politician (Labour).

Life

She was created a Life Peer in 1985. Member: Equal Opportunities Commission 1982-88, Occupational Pensions Board 1977-93; Council Member OPAS (Pension Advisory Service) 1989-2007; Chair, PIA Ombudsman Council 1994-97 She is also Vice-President of the British Humanist Association[1] and an Honorary Associate of the National Secular Society[2].

On 15 September 2010, Turner, along with 54 other public figures, signed an open letter published in The Guardian, stating their opposition to Pope Benedict XVI's state visit to the UK.[1]
